The kits were offered in the context of the crisis situations faced not only by the community of refugee families from Ukraine, but also by families from Moldova, thus reducing the financial burden on parents and ensuring the right of all children to education.
The kits for over 1,000 children were distributed in the project “Improving the well-being of children in Moldovan educational institutions”, implemented by P4EC in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Research, with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, as part of a partnership with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).
Previously, about 2,500 students in grades 1-12 from 20 schools in Chisinau, Balti and Cahul received educational kits, which included both school supplies and personal hygiene products within the same project.
In addition to children and parents, 280 teachers from the above-mentioned municipalities, received kits with school supplies, while 23 schools received kits with cleaning products.
These kits were distributed with the support of the Norwegian Refugee Council and funded by UNICEF and the United Nations Global Fund for Education in Emergencies and Protracted Crises “Education Cannot Wait”.
