1,200 students in grades I-XII from four Chisinau high schools will receive educational kits with school supplies, within a project implemented by NGO “Partnerships for Every Child” /P4EC/. These kits are to be distributed in the theoretical high schools: “A. Cantemir”, “M. Basarab”, “Dacia” and “Gloria”, in the context of the crisis situation faced by refugee families from Ukraine and from Moldova.
According to Daniela Mamaliga, P4EC director, the kit includes everything a student needs – school bag, sports backpack and school supplies. “With donors’ support we want to reduce the financial burden on parents, ensure the right of all children to education and contribute to their well-being,” Mrs. Mamaliga said.
The kits for the 1,200 students are distributed in the project “Improving the wellbeing of children in educational institutions of Moldova”, implemented by P4EC in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Research, with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, as part of a partnership with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC). At the same time, students from the four educational institutions attended the “Better Learning Programme” /BLP-1/, meant to support the psychosocial rehabilitation of children caused by displacement or other life circumstances that cause a high level of stress.
In 2023, in the context of the partnership with NRC and the generous support of donors, about 3,500 students in grades I-XII from educational institutions in Chisinau, Balti and Cahul received educational kits with school supplies and personal hygiene items, 280 teachers received kits with necessary school supplies, and 23 schools in all three areas received cleaning products for schools.
