Chisinau, 7th of December. The European Union provides assistance for the implementation of the psycho-social assistance programme PANDA in Cantemir, Cimișlia, Ștefan Vodă and Taraclia districts. In this regard, 17 practitioners from the 4 districts will be trained on 7-8th of December to deliver the PANDA programme in their communities.
The PANDA programme is an educational programme with therapeutic elements for children and adults who live with alcohol-addicted persons. The participants in the programme can be children aged 4 to 16 years and their parents who are not addicted to alcohol. The beneficiaries are involved in various educational activities and can also receive assistance in individual or group meetings. The participation in the programme of the parent who is not addicted to alcohol in parallel with the child, develops a sense of unity and provides common topics for communication.
This programme aims to change the child's attitude towards their own situation and the situation in the family, improve the psycho-emotional state of the child in the family affected by alcohol consumption, improve self-esteem, support the child to have better academic performance, to better interact with peers, to prevent alcohol consumption by children, etc.
The PANDA programme has been adapted for the Republic of Moldova and implemented since 2015 by NGO “Partnerships for every child” in 11 districts of the country, following the model provided by Ersta Vandpunkten from Sweden.
The training workshop takes place with the financial support of the EU as part of the project “For a society where girls and boys can thrive and reach their full potential with dignity”.
