Building child participation

Children are he experts of their lives. They now best what support should be developed and delivered to them and their families. Till now many professionals in Moldova are reluctant to listen to young people in care and don't see the need for it.  The more we start to build a movement for the children in care, the better in terms of reaching policy makers and pushing on for innovative policy and practice.

Building child participation

We empower children and young people to have their voices heard in the community, within organizations, and across government and incorporate their rights and specific needs into policies and practices. We facilitate the process of hearing what children and youth have to say to give adults new understanding about their wishes and needs. We develop practices and policies to facilitate children and young people’s participation into service design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. In 3 regions of Moldova we have supported local authorities to create Children’s Advisory Boards to advise local authorities on services, programmes they are developing for children and their parents.
