Members of the National Advisory Board of Children participated in a new capacity-building workshop

Thursday, May 11, 2017

Members of the National Advisory Board of Children (NABC) met today, 11 May, for a new capacity-building workshop. Young advisors met the Minister of Labour, Social Protection and Family, Mrs. Stela Grigoras, and talked about the ministry’s recent achievements in child care.

Minister Grigoras thanked the children for the assistance and support provided by the NABC in the development and improvement of policies and programs focused on the pursuit of the children’s rights and wellbeing in the Republic of Moldova.

“We obtained considerable achievements in this area, but there is still very much work to do, to make sure that all children in our country have a better life. I’m very glad that we met today to talk about further plans and objectives, because we want you to remain our partners and experts in the policies we are developing. We look forward for the day when the children’s voice is heard and taken into consideration in any corner of our country, and we need to work together for this”, said the minister.

Minister Stela Grigoras and the NABC members discussed problems faced by the children in our country and the areas where NABC can involve to consult the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family. During the workshop the young advisors presented and discussed the implementation of the NABC activity plan for 2016-2017, including numerous actions aimed at promoting the Foster Care service and child’s wellbeing areas, as well as other issue.

The board members set out further actions for the activity plan, in line with the priorities of the Ministry of Labour, Social Assistance and Family.

The NABC includes 35 members from different regions of the country. The Board was created by the MLSPF in 2015, aiming to consult the ministry in the development and promotion of child friendly policies. The NABC was created with the support of the Partnerships for Every Child charity, within the USAID-funded project “Children in Moldova are cared for in safe and secure families”, implemented in collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Moldova and 11 LPAs across the country.
