Child abuse issue included into the work agenda of the Specialized Services Centres for Children and Families in 3 regions of the country

Over 20 staff members of three Specialized Services Centres for Children and Families in the regions of Falesti, Calarasi, and Ungheni participated in a workshop on child abuse, held in Chisinau on 17-18 January 2017.

The seminar is part of the on-going training program for the staff of specialized centres and practitioners working in child protection in the three mentioned regions. The goal of this training is strengthening professional skills of practitioners working with victims or potential victims of abuse and neglect.

The issues covered by the training workshop included: types of abuse, methods of identification and recognition of signs of an abused child, consequences of abuse on the child’s development and psycho-social integration, child protection policy within a specialized service.

This activity was organized with the support of the NGO “Partnerships for Every Child” under the project “For a violence free life for children in Moldova”, funded by the Oak Foundation.
