    The final conference of project "Children in Moldova are cared for in safe and secure families"

    Chisinau, 13th of December 2017. 45798 children and 33579 families have been supported, in the last four years, as a result of the family support and strengthening programmes development within ”Children in Moldova are cared for in strong and secure families” project, which was implemented in 11 districts of the country.

    The MellowParenting educational program extends in other three regions

    The MellowParenting educational program for parents extends in Orhei, Singerei, and Soroca. Thus, on 15-18 May 2017, two international experts of the MellowParenting program are delivering training to the future practitioners for the three mentioned regions, who will be licensed to run this program. Following the training, the practitioners will be supported to recruit parents, and to conduct and assess group sessions with them.

    Follow up training for trainers on the use of the National Practice Model in 7 pilot regions

    Wednesday, 14th December, 44 representatives of the departments of education, social assistance and family protection, regional hospitals, and police inspectorates from 7 pilot regions: Orhei, Soroca, Telenesti, Nisporeni, Cahul, and Causeni, participated in the second stage of the follow-up training for trainers on the use of the National Practice Model “Getting it Right TOGETHER for every child”.

    About 50 representatives of education, social assistance, family protection departments, regional hospitals and police inspectorates of 7 regions of the country participated in a two-days training of trainers in the application of the National Practice Model “Getting it right – TOGETHER – for every child” (NPM).

    The “Mellow Parenting” program for parents’ strengthening will be implemented in the Republic of Moldova

    The Mellow Parenting program is launched in the Republic of Moldova for the first time and aims at supporting parents in the development of their parental skills at various stages of child development, from pre-birth to the pre-school age. The Mellow Parenting program is underpinned by the principles of attachment, social learning and cognitive behavioral theory.

    Representatives of central and local authorities of the country, specialists in social work, education, health-care, international experts, representatives of the academic environment, and professionals from NGOs, participated on 17th-19th May at the International Conference “Ensuring the right to a family for every child: Challenges and Solutions”.

    Training SAFPD human resources to provide alternative family-type care services

    30 specialists who will be providing training to foster care applicants and foster parents participated recently in a two-days training. The event was organized by Partnerships for Every Child, in collaboration with the organization Asistenta Parentala Profesionista – Suport pentru copii (Foster Care – Support for Children).

    Summer school for the most active 200 children of Moldova

    Members of 9 regional Advisory Boards for Child participation - ABCs (from the districts of Ungheni, Falesti, Calarasi, Cahul, Telenesti, Singerei, Causeni, Orhei, and Soroca) and the members of the National Advisory Board for Child participation – NABC got reunited this year within the traditional summer school, organized by the Association “Partnerships for Every Child” – P4EC.

    P4EC and its partners discussed on the wellbeing concept "Getting it right - TOGETHER - for every child"

    Representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family (MLPSF), decision makers and specialists with attribution in child rights protection of 11 Moldovan districts had recently discussed, in a workshop, on the wellbeing concept, named „Getting it right – TOGETHER – for every child”. The given concept will be piloted by P4EC, under the surveillance of MLSPF, and is expected to be soon integrated in national policies and practices of family and child protection.

    This November “Partnerships for Every Child” (P4EC) organized a study visit to Great Britain, for representatives of the Ministry of Education, local public authorities of II level, representatives of Social Assistance, Education, Finance Departments from Singerei and Telenesti raions.

    Children from a number of raions talked about rights, tolerance, and equality

    645 pupils of forms V – IX from mainstream schools of Singerei town and Pepeni village (Singerei raion) are participating on 24th – 28th November in a series of activities to build positive attitude, tolerance and equality in rights, regardless of one’s social status, origin, education, previous care experience, etc. During the sessions the pupils are trained in various issues of discussion on the rights of children, communication, conflict resolution, etc.

    Foster Care in Moldova – new achievements and perspectives

    Foster Care Assistance Association (“Asistenţa Parentală Profesionistă – Suport pentru copii”) was recently registered in Moldova. The Association’s goal is to develop a professional network of family-type alternative care of children at risk. The association will act as a professional platform designed for all persons, organizations involved and interested in this area.
