With EU support, the PPAS across the country learned the best practices regarding the support programmes for children with SEN

The results and positive practices achieved so far in piloting the support programmes in the first years for young children with Special Educational Needs: Makaton, Portage, Mellow Parenting and Communication through Music were disseminated on 24th May at the Republican Methodological Reunion of the heads of district Psycho-Pedagogical Assistance Services. The event was held in Fălești district, one of the 5 districts where these programmes are delivered.

The event was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova, the administration of Fălești district and the NGO „Partnerships for every child” within the “Improving access to community-based early years and pre-school support services for vulnerable children with special needs in Moldova” Project.

The early years support programmes for children with special educational needs: Makaton, Portage, Mellow Parenting and Communication through Music are implemented by the NGO „Partnerships for every child” in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection and the District Councils of 5 districts: Cahul, Călărași, Fălești, Nisporeni and Ungheni. The overall objective is to provide access for children with special educational needs aged 0-7 and their families to support programmes developed within the above mentioned project. The project – 680,000 EURO – is funded by the European Union.
