The ordinary meeting of the working group on reforming the residential system in Kyrgyzstan was held

The members of the working group on reforming the residential system in Kyrgyzstan met in an ordinary meeting led by the head of the administration of the Kyrgyzstan president, Dosalî Esenaliev, chairman of the group.

At the meeting, the experts of the NGO “Partnerships for every child” from the Republic of Moldova, Ana Palii and Svetlana Rîjicova, talked about the experience of the Republic of Moldova in reforming the child protection system, the stages of reform of Moldovan residential institutions that covered the years 1997-2017. In addition, the international experts said that “the child’s reintegration is the most important aspect in deinstitutionalization, especially, reintegration in the biological family”.

The deputy chair of the working group, Nazguli Turdubekova, told about the implementation of the Action Plan on reforming the residential system of Kyrgyzstan.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Dosalî Esenaliev thanked the Moldovan partners for the presented information and raised the need for the line ministry of Kyrgyzstan to hold meetings with the staff of boarding-schools and with the parents in the context of reform. “The reintegration of each child in the family must be monitored personally”, Mr. Esenaliev declared.

The meeting was held within a project aimed at implementing the Governmental Plan on optimizing and reforming residential institutions in Kyrgyzstan. The project is implemented by “Partnerships for every child” with the “Child’s Rights Defenders League” from Kyrgyzstan, with support of the European Delegation from Kyrgyzstan.
