Training for the representatives of SAFPD, on alternative family-type service delivery

“Partnerships for Every Child” (P4EC), in collaboration the NGO “Asistenta Parentala Profesionista – suport pentru copii” (Foster Care – Support for children) held recently a training course for the human resources of the Social Assistance and Family Protection Department (SAFPD), covering the delivery of alternative family-type services.

The training that included 30 participants from SAFPDs of 11 regions of Moldova, covered 3 modules and was implemented in several stages: 10-11 March, 25-26 April, and 14-15 July, focusing on the training of trainers for the following workshops with foster carers and applicants to the foster care position.

The issues covered during the training sessions referred to the well-being framework, child’s development, building of identity and attachment, foster care service management, behaviour management of children placed into FC, and the care of children in alternative family-type services.

Thus, the participants were trained on the specifics of adult learning, with extensive focus on the qualities of the trainer, use of interactive training tools, team work, etc.

The last round of training culminated with the handing out of the course graduation certificates in alternative family-type care service delivery, where the participants were qualified as trainers for future applicants to Foster Care service delivery.

The event was organized within the USAID-funded project “Children in Moldova grow in safe and secure families”, implemented by P4EC, in collaboration with the Government of Moldova and the administration of 11 local public authorities.
