Technical assistance to support CSO development in the Republic of Moldova

The project purpose

The project aims to develop civil society in becoming a stronger actor, including in actively participating in decision and policy making and implementation processes of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement.

The specific objectives of the action:

• To contribute to the development of civil society in becoming a stronger actor, including in actively participating in decision and policy making and implementation processes of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement with the aim of enhancing domestic accountability and transparency. Assistance will be provided to the EU Delegation in Moldova;

The action will ensure technical assistance to EU grant beneficiaries benefiting from the call EuropeAid/152768/DH/ACT/, as well as future potential beneficiaries of the Civil Society Facility to implement EU funded projects as well as comply with EU rules and procedures.

Under the supervision of the EU Delegation, the action will provide direct capacity development activities targeting EU grant beneficiaries, potential future beneficiaries, their sub-grantees, as well as relevant CSO platforms and networks to enhance their roles in the implementation process of the Association Agreement, in the targeted areas by the CSOs grant scheme (good governance, Economic and social development, Social cohesion through provision of social services).

The action will provide support to the EU Delegation to Moldova in improving its outreach to civil society, gaining a better understanding of the local civil society landscape and increasingly shift from financing to supporting civil society.

The action will provide support to the EU Delegation to Moldova in monitoring and increasing the visibility of its actions in support to civil society in Moldova.

The action will provide support to CSO beneficiaries of EU grants in enhancing their internal governance and sustainability.
