Summer camp for members of Advisory Boards of Children

Wednesday, July 05, 2023

With the support of the European Union, about 50 members of the Advisory Boards of Children /ABC/ will meet on July 5-7 at a summer camp. The youth will share their experiences and strengthen their skills and competences in monitoring and evaluating local policies and programmes, focused on the fulfillment of children's rights.

According to Natalia Semeniuc, child participation consultant at “Partnerships for Every Child” /P4EC/, “The summer school is a good opportunity for all ABC members to get to know each other. We are glad that, including with this summer camp and other events, we can contribute to the growth of these children, their personality development, because through the actions they carry out to support other children in the country, they make their voice to be heard”.

Thus, in addition to entertainment and introduction activities, the young people will learn more about monitoring and evaluating of social services (lessons learned), will share good practices between districts, ways of promoting the results achieved by ABC members, etc.

The summer camp is organised with the financial support of the European Union in the project “For a society where girls and boys can thrive and reach their full potential with dignity”, implemented by P4EC and CNFACEM, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education and Research, as well as local public authorities from Cimislia, Stefan Voda, Taraclia and Cantemir districts.

The Advisory Boards of Children have been created by P4EC in 10 other districts of the country since 2014. More than 800 children have been members of these boards. The mission of the ABCs is to make the voice of children, including those placed in social services, heard and to help their peers know their rights.
