Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Partnerships for Every Child, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family, is providing training to 35 Local Public Authorities from the country, in order to develop the Family Support Service for families with children in September 2013 – May 2014. The training program is specifically designed for community social assistants and for specialists of Social Assistance and Family Protection Departments. The raion of Nisporeni was the first region that received this special training program on September 16-18. The trainers Ana Palii and Irina Spivacenco held seminars with 22 community social assistants, on service methodology, focusing particularly on the organization of the service and on minimum standards of quality, that is, minimum requirements for the implementation of activities within the Service. These standards are a useful tool that also helps to assess the quality of the service.

Viorica Dumbraveanu, Head of Department of the Ministry of Labor, Social Assistance and Family:

”This category of specialists plays crucial role in supporting families with children at risk, in their communities, while the ministry places the main focus on the development of community-based social services for families with children. The training was implemented in interactive manner, community social assistants highly appreciated the participative method of organization of the seminar. The participants consider that the seminar is very useful and necessary in their area of activity.”

The trening is implemented within the project “Ensuring the right of the child to a family, and his protection from violence, abuse, and neglect”, implemented in the Republic of Moldova by Partnerships for Every Child, with the support of USAID.
