With support of the European Union, the members of the Advisory Board of Children from Cimislia district participated today in a new training delivered in Chisinau, where they discussed about children's rights and how they are respected in their communities.

The ABC mission is to make the voice of children heard, including of children placed in social services, and to help their peers know their rights. The ABC members will attend several trainings and joint meetings with representatives of the Territorial Social Assistance Structures in order to learn about the social services addressed to children at risk in the district. This knowledge will contribute to the development of ABC members' skills to monitor and evaluate local policies and programmes that are centered on observing the rights of the child.

The Advisory Board of Children from Cimislia district started its activity in April this year, along with three other similar ABCs created in Cantemir, Taraclia and Stefan Voda districts.

The ABCs, which include 100 members, are set up by P4EC with support of the EU, within the project “For a society where girls and boys can thrive and reach their full potential with dignity”.

Advisory Boards of Children have been set up by P4EC in 10 other districts of the country since 2014. Over 800 children have been members of these boards.
