Around 300 students in the country learned what non-violent communication is in school and society

With the support of the European Union, about 300 students from Cantemir, Taraclia, Stefan-Voda and Cimislia districts participated in a pilot educational assistance program where they learned the importance of non-violent communication and positive relationship with their peers. The concept of the program was developed by the experts of the National Center for Training, Assistance, Counseling and Education of Moldova /CNFACEM/ and applied in the pilot schools by psychologists.

The results of the piloting were presented on Tuesday, October 31, at a workshop attended by representatives of the four pilot districts, the Ministry of Education and Research, school psychologists, etc.

According to Alexandru Donos, head of CNFACEM, “children need clear explanation of how to express their emotions assertively and effectively, how to establish contacts with other children and adults, how to cope and understand the behavior of other people, learn from professionals and trusted people the communication techniques.”

The program was developed and piloted with the financial support of the European Union in the project “For a society where girls and boys can thrive and reach their full potential with dignity”, implemented by the NGO “Partnerships for Every Child” and the National Center for Training, Assistance, Counseling and Education of Moldova in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection; the Ministry of Education and Research, as well as the local public authorities from Cimislia, Stefan Voda, Taraclia and Cantemir districts.
