The community of parents and children in Vorniceni village, Straseni district can access a family-friendly space established in the Vorniceni Town Hall. The space provides a friendly and accessible environment, where families with children can participate in community activities, access information, support and resources needed for the smooth growth and development of children.
Anastasia Gruzin, deputy director of the Department for policies on the protection of the rights of children and families with children in the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection who was present at the event, noted that “the establishment of this space comes at a crucial time, reflecting the state's commitment to put the family at the heart of policies to ensure the well-being of children. Strong and united communities help create a more resilient and supportive environment for children's development.”
Daniela Mamaliga, director of Partnerships for Every Child (P4EC), stated, “Such activities offer the opportunity to reach as many families in Vorniceni as possible. Specialists such as the community social worker, teachers and health workers will work alongside parents in the community to strengthen their parenting skills and support them in the harmonious upbringing of children. The generation from Vorniceni, raised and educated in such a supportive and collaborative environment, will be better prepared to continue the development of the community and contribute to a better future for all.”
Guided by professionals, the community of families and children in the community will have the opportunity to share their experiences, provide and receive mutual support, discuss topics of common interest and participate in meetings that support the development of parenting skills and offer solutions to the challenges encountered in raising children.
All these actions are part of the piloting of an efficient model of the social support service for families with children, especially the primary component, launched in May this year, which aims to strengthen the service and develop the primary component to ensure the well-being of children and stability of families. The piloting is based on the data of a national analysis of the existing programs/activities of family support and consolidation, carried out in March-April 2024, in Criuleni, Dubasari, Ialoveni and Straseni districts that are subordinated to the Territorial Social Assistance Agency Center. In this context, three more family-friendly spaces will be established in Cosnita, Dubasari district, Bardar, Ialoveni district and Hirtopul Mare, Criuleni district.
The event is organized within the piloting of an effective model of the family support service, primary component, initiated by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and implemented by the Territorial Social Assistance Agency Center with support of P4EC within the Global Initiative Changing the Way We Care (CTWWC) implemented by Catholic Relief Services and Maestral International. CTWWC is funded in part by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the GHR Foundation.
