With the support of the European Union, the members of the Advisory Boards of Children (ABC) from Taraclia and Stefan Voda districts participate in new information sessions in Chisinau on October 27th and 28th. Thus, ABC members learn to develop assertive communication skills and techniques for preventing violence among peers, so that they can later disseminate them in their school environment.
The training is carried out by experts from the National Center for Training, Assistance, Counseling and Education.
The ABC's mission is to make the voice of children heard, including of those placed in social services, and to help their peers know their rights. The selected members attend several trainings and joint meetings with representatives of Territorial Social Assistance Structures in order to learn about the social services delivered to children at risk in the district. This knowledge contributes to the development of ABC members' skills to monitor and assess local policies and programmes, centered on the fulfillment of children’s rights.
The ABCs that comprise 100 members, are established by P4EC, with the support of the EU within the project “For a society where girls and boys can thrive and reach their full potential with dignity” in Cantemir, Cimislia, Stefan Voda and Taraclia districts.
Advisory Boards of Children have been established by P4EC in 10 other districts of the country since 2014. More than 800 children were members of these boards.
