86 parents/carers who have children with special needs under 7, from Cahul, Calarasi, Falesti, Nisporeni, and Ungheni regions, participated during 30 October and 17 November 2017 in a training program containing two modules, focused on the acquisition and development by parents/carers of practical knowledge, necessary for the care of children with disabilities. The program also provided the participants with assistance in capacity building for the promotion of educational and support programs available at the regional level, for children with special needs aged 0-7.

The training program was organized by “Partnerships for Every Child” /P4EC/ Association, within the project “Improving access of children with special needs to community support and education services within the first years of life”, in the five mentioned districts. The general objective of the project is to ensure the access of children with special needs, aged 0-7, and their families, to support programs developed by the project. The programs aim to build the capacities of parents and professionals, to provide this category of children with the best opportunities for development of their potential in the first years of life.

The project is implemented by P4EC, in collaboration with the consortium of British organizations MellowParenting and HealthProm, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Research, Ministry of Health, Labour, and Social Protection, and the authorities of the 5 pilot regions of the project. The total value of the project of 680 000 EUR is funded by the European Union.
