Strategic vision of specialized child protection services was presented in Chisinau

Friday, September 30, 2016

Strategic vision of the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family on the development of specialized child protection services was presented on 30 September at a workshop. The document was developed in the context of the Child Protection Strategy implementation that explicitly includes the prevention and outsourcing of violence against children among its objectives. The goal of the Vision is to model, based on the identified drawbacks, a coordinated, coherent, integrated, and holistic child protection system that will integrate a range of prevention, intervention, and recovery services to meet the complex needs of children who are victims or potential victims of violence and neglect.

The process of the Vision development involved consultants representing local and central public authorities, civil society representatives, direct service providers, experts in various sectors in-charge with child protection (medicine, health, social work, public order, etc.).

The document was developed within the USAID supported Project “Children in Moldova are cared for in safe and secure families” implemented by Partnerships for EveryChild, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family, Ministry of Education and LPAs of 11 districts of the country.
