With UNICEF support, the Foster Care Service is strengthened to respond to the needs of children with complex emotional needs

Monday, April 22, 2024

The therapeutic placement of children with complex emotional needs in the Foster Care Service /FCS/ will be piloted in Orhei district, after a series of consultations conducted at national level with professionals and decision-makers.

In this context, in the period April 22-29, 2024, we are holding consultation sessions with child and family protection specialists, service providers from several districts of the country and with the support of international experts from Scotland, Ms. Vivien Thompson and Ms. Linda Richards, to conceptualize the model of therapeutic placement of children with emotional needs. Representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and NGOs in the field are also included in the consultations.

In addition, a 3-day training will be delivered to 15 national trainers, who will, in turn, strengthen the skills of countrywide professionals responsible for the FCS in the therapeutic placement of children with complex emotional needs. Foster carers across the country will also attend such trainings.

The events are organized in the project “Every girl and boy is protected and empowered to thrive and reach their full potential with dignity”, implemented by NGO “Partnerships for Every Child”, with the support of UNICEF.
