Training for the managers of social services for children and families, held in 11 regions of the country

Capacity building of the managers of social services for children and families, subordinated to the Social Assistance and Family Protection Departments, was discussed at the Organizational Management training on 22-23 June this year, held by Partnerships for Every Child under the project “Children in Moldova live and grow in safe and secure families”. The training program is moderated by Vitalie Popa, consultant at AXA Management Consulting. The training beneficiaries include managers of social centres and services: family support, foster care, adoption, community family-type homes, etc., from Cahul, Falesti, and Sincerei regions.

Similar trainings will be organized in the coming period, for the managers of these services in eight other regions included into the project: Calarasi, Causeni, Nisporeni, Orhei, Rezina, Soroca, Telenesti, and Ungheni.

Vitalie Popa mentioned: “we intend to develop the participants’ management competences. This will bring benefits not only to them, as service managers, but also to the organizations they represent”.

The issues discussed at the workshop cover management style, typical challenges of the organizational management, they way organizations function: structure, responsibilities, roles, procedures. A special focus is placed on the motivational behaviours in the relation with the staff and on the high performance of the subordinated staff-members, defining the management style.

The Organizational Management workshop is part of a series of trainings provided by P4EC within the USAID-funded project “Children in Moldova live and grow in safe and secure families”. Similar training was previously provided to heads and deputy heads of Social Assistance and Family Protection Departments of the 11 project pilot regions.
