Promoting education for health among young people

The project purpose
The purpose of the project is to increase the level of knowledge among adolescents (10-19 years old) about their health and to empower them to demand the teaching of age-appropriate and culturally sensitive health education in schools, including reproductive health, human rights and prevention of gender-based violence.
Specific objectives of the action:
- Strengthening the quality of education for health in schools, including reproductive health, human rights and prevention of gender-based violence.
- Strengthening the national capacities in reviewing the curriculum in line with the World Health Organization (WHO) standards on education for health in schools, including reproductive health.
- Evaluating compulsory school curricula ("Civic Education" and "Biology") from the human rights perspective, including age-appropriate education for health.
- Evaluating and revising the curriculum for the optional subject "Education for Health"
- Training teachers from the targeted districts in the revised curriculum of the subject "Education for Health"
- Piloting the optional subject "Education for Health" in the targeted districts.
- Raising awareness among young people and communities regarding the healthy lifestyle among young people and complex education for health, including reproductive health, human rights and prevention of gender-based violence in the targeted districts.
- Training peer-to-peer trainers on adolescent health, including reproductive health, human rights and prevention of gender-based violence.
- Training teachers/trainers on adolescent health, including reproductive health, human rights and prevention of gender-based violence.
- Expanding peer-to-peer education in adolescent health, including reproductive health, human rights and gender-based violence prevention in the selected districts.
- Community mobilization with a focus on parents, teachers, religious organizations and religious leaders, with the aim of increasing their support for the education for health among young people.
- Consultations at district level on the curriculum for the subject "Education for Health"
