Vera Zgureanu lives in the village of Condratesti of Ungheni District. She and her husband became recently foster carers. It was in 2013 when the couple decided to welcome the first child in the family.

Elena (the name is changed) was repatriated from the Russian Federation two years ago, after 16 years’ unskilled work. She used to live in Ungheni region, and because she was jobless and could hardly make the ends meet, she decided to flee abroad, seeking employment.

Andrei is 17, and has a life experience for 17 years ahead. Today the boy and his brothers live with their father. Their mother left them due to incurable disease five years ago. The family came through very difficult times, but despite this the boys remained kind, sensitive, and united.

… For now, we stopped at Visoca, a village of the district of Soroca, where we met 4 brothers. Actually, they were born in a family of 10 children and come from a totally different region of the Country. They’re from the district of Criuleni.

They say that when you are 20, life is only beginning, with all its beautiful moments and all that can make one’s life more pleasant, especially at this age when a person, although considers to be adult, from the physical point of view, has still a child’s soul: naïve and credulous, unable to foresee someone’s vile interests under the mask of smiles and cajolery, to which this young soul is, probably, not used yet.

When I was 10, I was taken away from my parents and placed in Cahul residential school. It was very difficult in the beginning, I wanted to go home, although I knew that nobody was waiting for me there. Soon I got used to the new place, and I made friends with many children, because they accepted my as I was, and nobody humiliated me because of my parents.

A year ago, Ana was the best pupil of Albinetul-Vechi, Falesti auxiliary school. With grades of 9 and 8 almost for all school disciplines, she participated in all sport and artistic contests for children from special schools. Ana was the help and hope of the teacher.
