22 December 2016, Representatives of 15 NGOs from the Republic of Moldova participated in a training session on correct ways of small projects writing and application, with the purpose of promoting the well-being of families and children in the Republic of Moldova under the National Practice Model “Getting it right for every child”.

The piloting of the National Practice Model /NPM/ initiated this spring in 3 regions of the country has entered its second phase. During the first stage, informative and awareness raising meetings covering areas of child’s well-being and family protective factors were held with over 5500 professionals and auxiliary staff working in areas of education, public order, health, and social assistance.

Wednesday, 14th December, 44 representatives of the departments of education, social assistance and family protection, regional hospitals, and police inspectorates from 7 pilot regions: Orhei, Soroca, Telenesti, Nisporeni, Cahul, and Causeni, participated in the second stage of the follow-up training for trainers on the use of the National Practice Model “Getting it Right TOGETHER for every child”.

Calarasi local steering committee of the Children in Moldova are cared for in safe and secure families Project had ordinary work meeting on Wednesday 2nd November 2016. The remaining 10 pilot regions of the project will call similar work meetings during the month of November.

The Mellow Parenting program is launched in the Republic of Moldova for the first time and aims at supporting parents in the development of their parental skills at various stages of child development, from pre-birth to the pre-school age. The Mellow Parenting program is underpinned by the principles of attachment, social learning and cognitive behavioral theory.

Augmentative communication language Makaton adapted to the local settings will be applied in the Republic of Moldova, based on a method developed by the British Makaton organization. Thus, a work group recently approved by the Ministry of Education will identify, within six months, the core vocabulary of this language, adapted for our country.

An EU-funded project that will facilitate access during first years of life of children with special needs to community support and education services is launched today, 3rd March 2016, in Chisinau. The project’s life is two years, 2016-2018, and it will be implemented in five regions of the country: Cahul, Calarasi, Falesti, Nisporeni, and Ungheni.
