Chisinau, 7th December 2018. With the support of the European Union, around 650 children with special needs aged 0-7 from five districts of the country were provided with support and access to innovative services that have contributed to their wellbeing and inclusion.

The accreditation certificates were handed in by the representatives of MellowParenting organization from Great Britain, at a good practices exchange event organized for the practitioners from 9 regions of the country, participating in the program implementation.

The MellowParenting educational program for parents extends in Orhei, Singerei, and Soroca. Thus, on 15-18 May 2017, two international experts of the MellowParenting program are delivering training to the future practitioners for the three mentioned regions, who will be licensed to run this program. Following the training, the practitioners will be supported to recruit parents, and to conduct and assess group sessions with them.

The training is provided by the British organization KCA specialized in this area.

The goal of the NPM is to unify the efforts of decision-makers and professionals in four sectors: education, health, public order, and social assistance, for the prevention of risks and to ensure the well-being of every child.

The piloting of the National Practice Model /NPM/ initiated this spring in 3 regions of the country has entered its second phase. During the first stage, informative and awareness raising meetings covering areas of child’s well-being and family protective factors were held with over 5500 professionals and auxiliary staff working in areas of education, public order, health, and social assistance.

The Mellow Parenting program is launched in the Republic of Moldova for the first time and aims at supporting parents in the development of their parental skills at various stages of child development, from pre-birth to the pre-school age. The Mellow Parenting program is underpinned by the principles of attachment, social learning and cognitive behavioral theory.
